An exuberant setting of Psalm 117, Rupert Lang’s Cantate Domino has been performed around the world, since being published by Boosey & Hawkes more than thirty years ago. This new arrangement by the composer adapts the work for SSAATTBB voices, suitable for strong choirs of all ages. The thrilling rhythms and exciting techniques are sure to thrill your audience and singers alike!
This new arrangement of Cantate Domino was commissioned by Carrie Tennant for the Vancouver Youth Choir.

Ahle sets a scene - pastoral shepherds, radiant angels, and the journey to Bethlehem to celebrate the birth of Christ. This wonderful piece needs a fine soprano soloist, but the choral parts are well within the reach of a church or community choir. Ahle comically scores the sinfonias for four bassoons, but also suggests brass or strings should the fagotti not be available!
Perfect for your Christmas Eve service or December programs, with parts included in a variety of clefs suitable for historic or modern instrumentation.
All Steinbock Press Editions of historical music come with complete parts and complete editorial and critical commentary. Please order only one copy - the download includes score and all parts and is priced accordingly.
A simple but lush arrangement of a favourite hymn, “It is well with my soul” offers a song of comfort in these trying times. Originally arranged for Christ Church Cathedral, Vancouver, this arrangement is well within reach of strong church choirs, with rewarding harmonies and jazzy chords. A perfect anthem based on a beautiful hymn.

As early as 1988, musicologist Philip Brett was lamenting the future of the editing of so-called “early music.” His prediction? As a casualty in the quest for authenticity, “the editor will be lucky to find employment running the copying machine and brewing the herbal tea.” So why are you looking at new editions, from a new imprint, launching in 2025? And how is any of this relevant to choral music composed in the last ten years?
STEINBOCK PRESS exists to bridge gaps and create connections. Connections between composers and performers. Connections between historical works and modern interpretations. Editions strive to honor the composers intentions, whether they’re a trusted friend or baroque klein-meister - and ultimately, you, the performer, support the continued creation of new works and new editions. Living composers get 70% of the profits, the rest supports the work of STEINBOCK PRESS. Please support the entire arts ecosystem by not photocopying music, and paying for as many copies as you make - lest we all be brewing the herbal tea.
